DATE & TIME: May 12 (rain date 13), 5pm - 7:30pm Instructor: Olga Merrill COST: Members $100 (***MEMBERS use code FLOWERCAMERAMEMBER at checkout***) Non-Members: $125 Capacity: 5 Location: Pineland Farm, 15 Farm View Dr., New Gloucester, ME. Skill level: All levels. Adults only. Recommended Knowledge of the camera. Understanding the full- functionality of your camera is a necessity when photographing in a variety of situations. Materials List: Camera with manual mode settings (DSLR, mirrorless), lenses ( preferences for lenses: telephotos, macro), extra camera battery and memory cards! Optional: filters, tripod, Description: Using a variety of techniques and tools, participants will create individualized and intriguing flower photos that stem from mindfulness, creative permission, and spontaneous expression. You’ll learn how to compose beautiful flower images, how to simplify your compositions using natural light to your advantage. You’ll learn how to add a more artistic and abstract look to your images, creating your unique intriguing flower photo art. Olga will share how to get an “A-Ha!” moment while enjoying the creative process. Olga will give tet-a-tet 15 min creative review sessions for each participant after class, with the goal of producing a striking and cohesive body of work with a unique point of view, and to enhance the uniqueness of Intriguing flowers. About Olga Merrill: Olga Merrill is an award-winning Maine-based visual artist primarily using the medium of photography. She uses photography as a tool – like an instrument to make music or a brush for painting – to create an image of her vision, with a dreamy and indirect relationship to external reality. She had solo exhibition” Enigma” at Griffin Museum of Photography, 2022. Merrill’s work has been part of group shows and festivals nationally and internationally. She was the 1st Place Winner, International Juried exhibit ” Black and White 2020′′, NYC4PA; 1st place winner, 15th Annual National Photography Competition at Foto-Foto Gallery, 2019; Silver Award at San Francisco Bay International Photography Competition, 2019.
