DATE & TIME: May 18 (rain date 19th). 10am - 3pm Instructor: Deborah Chapin COST: Members $175 (***MEMBERS use coupon code PEMAQUIDMEMBER at checkout***) Non-Members: $190 Capacity: 15 Location: Pemaquid Lighthouse, 3115 Bristol Rd, New Harbor, ME Skill level: Intermediate to advanced. Adults only. Materials List: Your own kit of easel, paints, and brushes. Instructor will make recommendations. Students will need money for park fee (check here for pricing: https://www.bristolmaine.org/parks-recreation/pemaquid-point-lighthouse-park), and bring a lunch. Picnic tables and porta potty available. Description: Teaching Basics of composition, how to see that in a seascape, unlaying of tone and form, capturing the moment, mixing color on the fly and in this location aerial and linear perspective. Packing three days into one. Class Includes instructor e-Book "Capturing Life and Movement en Plein air," and article on the subject published in American Artist magazine. Students will receive these by email one week before class. Students will work on their individual compositions with personalized instructions as instructor checks in with students. Students can choose one or two compositions. About Deborah Chapin:​ International Marine Artist Deborah Chapin has a long exhibition history starting with in 1980 at the now defunct Grand Central Galleries in NYC. Her work has exhibited in Museums including: Grand Palais and Carrousel du Louvre in Paris with the Societe Nationale des Beaux Arts, Mystic Seaport Gallery International since its inception in 1982, Of Ships and Sea Exhibits at Greenwich Workshop Gallery, Artist of America Exhibitions Colorado Historical Museum, Ketterer Kunst Auctions in Hamburg GE, and Lectured on plein air painting at the Smithsonian American Art Museum just to name a few.
