The Art of Alchemy: Collage/Mixed Media Exploration
Exhibit Description and Call for Art:
Participating artists in this juried show are encouraged to let their imaginations be playful and varied as they create works of art in multiple media combined in one work. Any collage or mixed media will be accepted and we encourage as wide a range in technique as possible, from traditionally flat surfaces to reliefs, to fully 3-dimensional objects. Artists could use paper, paint, photographs, fabric and ephemera, as well as traditional 3-dimensional materials. Subject matter is completely the artist’s choice.
Entries will be accepted beginning June 6. Deadline for receipt of entries is July 6. Late entries will not be considered.

Meet the Juror
Juror Katharina Keoughan came to her involvement with fine art after a career as a graphic designer in Miami, Florida, where she eventually headed her own design studio. She had loved art since youngest childhood, and, following college courses, learned her craft as a graphic designer by working in numerous advertising agencies and design studios in the ‘70s. She opened her own business, “Drexel and Ives” in 1981 and built it into one of the leading design studios in Miami. In 1991 during a visit, she and her husband fell in love with the mid-coast and moved to Maine. Her new life-style included renovating an old farmhouse, gardening and the pursuit of fine art.
She exhibited in numerous galleries in Florida and Maine, including, in Maine, Round Top Center for the Arts, Maine Coast Artists, Victoria Stables, Elan Gallery, Boothbay Regional Art Foundation. Soon she was also teaching and found that nurturing the creative process in others became her passion. She has been teaching adults for 24 years and works from her own professional studio in Damariscotta. She has previously juried shows in the area.
